3am and I’m Wide Awake…

And the baby is sound asleep. He has been since about 10 last night. This is ridiculous!  I should be taking advantage of every second of sleep I can get, because nighttime sleep is rare these days. But Insomnia doesn’t care. Having a new baby means nothing to Insomnia. So I will be dead tired during the day, as usual, and wishing for a few moments of rest. Why is it so much easier for me to sleep  during the day???

Anyway, I thought I would take this opportunity to write a little bit and share this very adorable picture of Addy and Baby EC…

Please excuse the mess in the background.  It’s mostly just baby stuff, which has completely taken over the whole house. Who knew one tiny little being could take up so much space?!

Addy loves the baby. She seems very protective of him. If Baby EC is crying, Addy will follow me around and constantly meow until EC calms down. She also likes to sit on my lap with him. I was worried about how she would adjust, but it just seemed natural for her.

I should try to get some rest again. My alarm will go off in 2 hours and my day will begin. It feels good to be writing, and thank you for reading even though this post has been a boring one. I have plenty of exciting and interesting things to share, but my brain isn’t functioning well enough at the moment for any of that!

Weekend Events

This is a giant burger. (Sorry the presentation is utterly ridiculous,  but we must work with what we’ve got)

I made them yesterday when my daughter brought her foreign exchange student friend home from college. The student is a very sweet Chinese girl named Janet, who speaks very little English. When asked what she would like me to make for lunch, her reply was “cheeseburger and fruit salad”. Regrettably,  the fruit salad was quickly consumed before I could get a photo. Such is life.
So, we ate cheeseburgers and fruit salad for lunch while conversing with Janet about the differences in our cultures. It was a lovely time, and I do hope Holly will bring her back each time she comes home from college since the dear girl is so far away from her own home and family.

I’m still staying at my parents place since mine is still being remodeled. It hasn’t been at all bad, but I’m excited to see my “new” home and be amongst all of my things once again.

Miss Addycat is getting along just fine here. She rather likes it, actually.  She gets up around 3am each morning and sits with my parents as they have coffee. She enjoys playing “Thundering Herd of Elephants” throughout the house very late at night or wee hours of the morning.

The camera angle shot makes her face look distorted here.

She is a bit irritated of my picture taking. Still adorable, nevertheless!

I’ve got to practice my photography skills.  Trouble is, my subject is not very patient lol!

I’m starting research to do a few Medically related pieces, I hope they will prove informative or even valuable to some of you. Until then, take care everyone! Kat

Lessons in Meowish… Back in Session

Hello evfurryone! I’ve been taking a break from blogging to do lots of this…

But now it’s time to get back to business with our Meowish lessons!

This is a good word to start out with…
Meowch – Can you guess what it means? Here, I will give you a hint.

Kittehs + Catnip + trying to give a belly rub = MEOWCH!!!

That example may or may not have been inspired by events that occurred earlier today…

Thank mew for reading!!! Addycat

An Unexpected Visitor!

Addycat here. Meowmie woke up furry early this meowning. She opened the front door to go outside and felt something brush against her leg. She thought it was me sneaking outside… only it wasn’t!!! Someone snuck inside superfast!!!

It is furry cold outside,  and sometimes my neighbor Garfield stays out all night. He must have been fureezing because as soon as Meowmie opened that door, he rushed inside!

I don’t go outside much, but I have met Garfield out there before. He is always furry nice to me, but I’m not used to other kittehs and feel a little aggressive towards him. The last time I saw him though, I let him get close to me and we touched nosies before I hissed!

Anyways. Meowmie felt sorry for Garfield because he was cold, so she hasn’t made him leave yet. If you ask me, he’s getting a little TOO comfortable as a guest in MY house!

He’s up on MY futon and I’m below him on the floor,  glaring.

I guess he is a nice ginger mancat, but I hope he doesn’t get any ideas about staying furry long. And he BETTER stay away from my crunchy noms!!! Hmph!

NaBloPoMo Day 4

Wow. This is harder than I thought… getting a post in before midnight. I just looked at the clock and panicked!!!

I really need to get myself organized with this because again, I’m just writing whatever comes to mind.

I awoke this morning to loud crashing noises. No, not noise… noises. Plural. Something caused Addycat to go crazy. She was tearing through the house, knocking things off nightstands and end tables and the kitchen counter

I got up to find out what was going on of course, but only found the wild-eyed feline sitting in the living room, staring at a blank wall. I made sure she had food and water, petted her a bit, then went back to bed.

I drifted back off for a few minutes, only to be awakened again… this time Addycat was walking on me. Not walking over me… walking ON me, on my legs, my stomach, my chest,  my face and back. She’s never done that before… it was very strange.

She’s very sensitive to when I’m feeling really sick or when I’m upset. She’s never been a lap cat, but when she knows I’m not well she never leaves my side. She will follow me everywhere and lay with me in bed until I get up.

She’s very special to me. I can’t imagine life without her. She’s my Therapy Cat!

New – My Daily Post

So I’ve decided to commit (again) to posting daily. I’ve realized that my randomness and lack of consistent topics may have been one of my setbacks.

So I give you: My Daily Attitude/Gratitude List

The theory is to write a gratitude list daily… you know, to remind myself what I’m grateful of… not a unique idea right.

But the Attitude part of the list will include my rants of the day. This way I get it out of my system, you guys will probably get some laughs at the expense of my awkwardness, unfortunate timing and all around bad luck… daily.

See… it’s a win-win!

Sometimes I might try to incorporate photos, but I’m blogging thru my phone right now which already makes it 1000 times more difficult than it really should be.

Shall we begin? Ok.

1- I woke around 3 this morning to an odd noise in my bedroom… kak kak kaaaak kkkaaaapppllleck!  Kak kak kak kak….kak kak kak kkkaaaapppllleck! Any guesses? Yep. The cat puked on my bed. Twice. I had to clean the messes, put the blanket in the washer, make sure the poor kitty was finished yakking, and find a replacement blanket for the rest of my sleep time.

Gratitude- The kitty is okay. She’s not sick. After investigating the puke, I determined the cause to be hairballs. (Wait… the investigation should be in the attitude part…)

Attitude 2- I discovered an infestation of gnats in my new home. I had to spray around all the windows and outside doors, google how to get rid of gnats, and prepare traps consisting of balsamic vinegar, dish soap and water in containers. I put the strainers from my sinks on top of the containers since I had no cling wrap to poke holes in as google suggested.

Gratitude- I am finally in my new place! And I was genius enough to think of using sink strainers for my gnat traps!

Attitude 3- my insomnia is raging for some reason.  Even my sleeping meds aren’t phasing me one bit. I’m so tired and irritable…

Gratitude- I have Netflix and Candy Crush to keep me company during the vampirish hours. Also,  I’ve been experimenting with my gigantic makeup collection. Who says you can’t put on a full face of makeup at 2am for no reason?

Ok. That’s enough for now. I’m sooooo sleepy that my eyes are all blurry.

Is this idea dumb? Any suggestions?  How could I be more entertaining for you? ^..^ Kat

Sleepy Kitty

I wish I had a place to curl up in… high above, resting, sleeping, watching the People do their silly people things in their silly people lives.

I Think I Have a Dog Living in a Cat’s Body…

Yes, it’s true. Addy acts very dog-like. She scratches at the door when she wants to go outside. She comes back in when we whistle for her. She plays fetch with her favorite shoestrings and actually brings them back to us. If the doorbell rings, she runs right to the door. She loves hot cheetos and spicy cheezits. (not sure if that is a dog-like quality but I’m throwing it in there anyway).

She sleeps on my feet at night and is by my side everywhere I go (while I am inside or near the house outside). She acts very protective of me. She is a very important part of my family but she is the strangest cat I’ve ever owned!

Do you have a cat who displays dog-like behaviors? If so, in what ways? Kat

Blogging Every Day

So I will be blogging every day from now on. Maybe I will get out of this rut that I have been in for awhile.

I received an email about influenster, which is a website that offers monthly boxes of products for bloggers to review, if they meet the requirements each month.

I had signed up for this a few months ago and had forgotten about it until yesterday. The email said that my “vox box” was going to be shipped shortly! Yay, so I’m excited about that.

Also, I should be getting my first birch box soon. I will explain about these box things later today. I am using my iPhone and it is hard for me to blog with it.

Also I have decided to talk about subjects I deal with each day in my life such as: sleep apnea
Chiari malformation
Whatever else I feel like blogging about. I sort of want to try vlogging also, but it makes me feel weird and nervous. Ok, more coming later today!
